Transparency Notice

This Transparency Notice provides information required under Article 14 of the UK GDPR and EU GDPR for individuals whose professional data appears in the Hyranse candidate database but who have not directly provided that data to us.

Data Controller

1. Who we are

Artashes Stepanyan Individual Entrepreneur (trading as Hyranse) operates Hyranse, a B2B recruitment platform used by registered recruiters and hiring teams to discover candidates for open roles.

2. What data we process

We process business-related professional information only, such as:

• Name and professional headline;
• Current and previous job titles and employers;
• Education, skills, and experience;
• Publicly listed contact details (email, phone, social profiles) where available from public sources;
• Professional availability signals, such as Open To Work indicators, where publicly disclosed.

We do not intentionally process sensitive personal data (health, political opinions, religious beliefs, etc.).

3. Sources of data

We obtain candidate data from:

• Publicly accessible professional networking platforms and profiles;
• Employer and company websites, speaker pages, and public directories;
• Other lawful public professional sources.

We do not collect data from private, restricted, or non-public accounts.

4. Purpose of processing

We process this data to:

• Enable authenticated paying Hyranse customers to search for and evaluate candidates for legitimate job opportunities;
• Maintain and improve the accuracy of professional profiles in our database;
• Respond to opt-out, correction, and deletion requests.

Candidate data is made available only to authenticated paying customers under contract. It is not publicly searchable on the open internet.

5. Automated ranking and AI-assisted search

When customers use our AI Candidate Search feature, we may generate automated ranking outputs — such as fit scores, matched skills, and gaps — by comparing your professional profile information to a job description submitted by a customer.

These outputs help recruiters review candidates for open roles. They are indicative decision-support tools only. Hyranse does not make hiring or rejection decisions about you, and customers are responsible for their own recruitment decisions.

We do not produce legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing within the meaning of Article 22 UK GDPR / EU GDPR.

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including ranking for recruitment discovery, through the Candidate Privacy Center or the contact details in Section 12.

6. Legal basis

We rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — both ours and those of our customers — to operate a recruitment search platform. A summary of our balancing test is published in our LIA Summary.

Our customers act as independent data controllers for their own recruitment and outreach activities and must establish their own lawful basis for contacting you.

7. Recipients of data

Your professional profile may be viewed by authenticated Hyranse customers (recruiters and hiring teams). We also use service providers (hosting, security, support tools) who process data on our behalf under contract.

8. International transfers

Data may be processed in the Republic of Armenia and in countries where our service providers operate. Where transfers from the UK or EEA occur, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Retention

We retain candidate data while it remains accurate and relevant for recruitment purposes, and until you request deletion or opt out.

10. Suppression after opt-out

When you submit a valid opt-out, deletion, or objection, we remove your profile from future customer searches within a reasonable period (typically 30 days), subject to legal retention and backup limitations. We maintain suppression records to prevent validly suppressed profiles from reappearing in the Service without justification. Customers must not attempt to circumvent suppression using data previously obtained through the Service.

11. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to your personal data;
• Request correction of inaccurate data;
• Request deletion or opt out of our database;
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests;
• Request restriction of processing;
• Request data portability where applicable;
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
